A substantial walnut cutting board built for everyday food preparation. Its end-grain construction creates a durable working surface while showcasing the natural color and variation of American black walnut.

The board is assembled with the wood fibers oriented vertically, allowing the surface to better absorb repeated knife contact and helping reduce the appearance of cut marks over time. At 12″ × 18″ × 1.5″, it provides generous prep space without becoming unnecessarily difficult to handle or store.

Choose your preferred edge treatment, juice-groove configuration, and foot option from the selections on this page. Each board is made to order in our Downers Grove, Illinois workshop and finished with Real Milk Paint Cutting Board Oil.

Trail's Edge Board Butter—our fractionated coconut oil and beeswax conditioning blend—is included for continued care. Please allow approximately two weeks for your board to be made. The display stand shown in some photographs is not included.

Hand-wash with mild dish soap and warm water. Do not soak the board or place it in a dishwasher. Wipe away excess water and allow the board to dry completely on its edge so air can circulate around both faces.

When the wood begins to look dry or dull, apply a thin, even coat of Trail’s Edge Board Butter to all surfaces and edges. Allow it to absorb, then buff away any excess with a clean cloth.

Avoid bleach, harsh cleaners, and prolonged exposure to standing water or excessive heat.
