Warranty & Return Policy


Warranty Coverage

Each item from Trail’s Edge Woodworks is handcrafted to order. We offer a 12-month limited warranty from the date of delivery, covering defects in materials or workmanship. If a defect is confirmed, we will repair or replace the product at our discretion.

This warranty applies only to products used for their intended purpose and installed, handled, and cared for according to our instructions.


Returns

Because our items are custom built and made by hand, we are unable to accept general returns. Please inspect your order immediately upon delivery. If you receive a damaged or defective product, contact us within 48 hours with photos of:

  • The Product

  • The Packaging

  • Any Visible Damage not caused by shipping carrier mishandling

Failure to report damage within this timeframe may affect eligibility for replacement.

Important: If a damaged item must be returned for evaluation, the customer is responsible for properly packaging the item and purchasing adequate shipping insurance. Damage that occurs during a return shipment without insurance is not covered.

 


 

What’s Not Covered

This warranty does not apply to:

  • Normal wear and tear (scratches, dings, patina, knife marks, etc.)

  • Wood movement, minor cracks, color changes, or finish variation caused by humidity, sunlight, or environmental exposure

  • Issues caused by improper care, neglect, or failure to follow care instructions

  • Damage from misuse, modification, improper installation, or hanging hardware not rated for the product

  • Damage from water immersion, dishwasher use, high heat/cold, open flames, harsh chemicals, or cleaning solvents

  • Cosmetic variations in grain, color, texture, or finish that naturally occur in real hardwood

  • Damage to items that were not properly packaged or insured during a warranty return shipment

Because wood is a natural material, some natural imperfections, micro-variations, and seasonal movement should be expected and are not considered defects.


How to Make a Claim

Email us at info@trailsedgewoodworks.com with:

  • Your order number

  • Photos of the defect and the packaging

  • A brief description of the issue

We typically respond within 2 business days.

If a warranty claim is approved, you will be responsible for shipping the item to us for evaluation. We will notify you once approved and outline the next steps.  We will cover the cost of shipping the repaired or replacement item back to you.
