A magnetic knife holder that belongs on the wall. Solid American black walnut, finished with a natural hardwax oil, with a completely clean face — no visible hardware anywhere — and a hold strong enough for your heaviest chef's knife. Free shipping.

Seven magnet positions across 12" of solid walnut — enough for the knives you actually reach for, without taking up more wall than you need. Each piece is milled from a single board, hand-selected for straight grain, with all sapwood removed. The front is left entirely clean — no pockets, no plugs, no hardware of any kind. The only detail is a set of tapered vertical splines cut into each end, paired with a chamfered edge along the full profile.

The magnets are pocketed and sealed from the back, covered with a fitted walnut plug, completely hidden from view. Mounting is handled by two keyhole slots on the back, spaced 10" apart for standard stud alignment. Included drywall anchors handle solid drywall without studs.

Finished with a natural hardwax oil — no polyurethane, no lacquer, nothing that traps moisture or wears unevenly. Made one at a time in Downers Grove, Illinois.

Material: Solid American black walnut
Size: 12" (305mm) length × 3.5" (89mm) height at ends × 1.22" (31mm) depth
Arch height: 4.5" (114mm) at center
Magnet positions: 7, spaced 1.5" apart, blind-mounted and plugged from the back
Edge detail: chamfered profile, tapered splines at each end
Mounting: Two keyhole slots, 10" center-to-center
Finish: Natural hardwax oil

Every 12" knife holder ships with two drywall anchors and mounting screws, sized for the keyhole slots spaced 10" apart. Built for solid drywall without studs — if you're mounting into studs, the included screws work directly and anchors aren't needed.

Wipe clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid soaking or submerging — the walnut is finished with a natural hardwax oil, not a sealed film finish, so standing water can dull the surface over time. Re-oil once or twice a year with a hardwax oil to keep the wood conditioned; a light coat, buffed in, is enough. Keep the magnets dry to preserve their hold.
